Dev in Manila

Last July 12, our friend from Vans Philippines invited us to Dev's concert in Republiq. Dev is known for her songs, "Bass Down Low", "Like a G6" (in collaboration with Far East Movement), "Naked" (with Enrique Iglesias), and "In the Dark". Her concert in Manila was sponsored by Smart and Vans, and hosted by Styles Entertainment.

She started performing at past 1am and ended after 20-30mins. That was short but actually fun. The crowd enjoyed her performance. unfortunately I can't upload a video 'coz for some reason, it was recorded upside down. But here are some of our photos at the concert:

Friends, Basketball and the "Call Me Maybe" Craze

Yeah, I have friends whom I've known through basketball and I'm so happy that our friendship gets stronger each day (or should I say, each basketball game day? haha).

Since I got back from Japan, I haven't missed a TNT game. And it's probably one of the reasons why I kinda gained weight! haha! Every after game, we go out and dine. Can't imagine that we're spending lots of cash to get ourselves fat! LOL!

June 24 - TNT vs BGK

Then at halftime, "Call Me Maybe" was played...so we took advantage of the music! LOL!

And of course, we also support the Philippine team! Last 25th of June, we visited Smart Gilas 2 and the team to SEABA (They're in Chang Mai, Thailand this week) during their practice in Ultra. My friends watched their tune-up game last June 29 in Moro Gym (Ateneo), but I had to miss it 'coz I was in school.

The Launch of "Rising Higher"

Last Thursday (June 28), we attended the Book Launch of Kelly Williams in Fullybooked, Bonifacio High Street. We were there to support this big man of Talk N' Text Tropang Texters, whom we've known since we started supporting the team in 2010.

Kelly's book entitled "Rising Higher" is an autobiography. Here he shares his life experiences that made him "rise higher", which means it is truly an inspirational book. In this book, Kelly talks about his family, close friends, teammates, coaches, etc. In fact, the book's foreword was written by his current team coach, Chot Reyes.

The book launch was attended by Kelly's closest friends both in and out basketball, the  entire Talk N' Text team, friends from the MVP group, some fans, and a couple of friends from media. Our entire "barkada", which was founded through basketball, was also there to support. This great guy deserves such kind of support.

Why you shouldn't miss Spotlight Saturdays...

Every Saturday, DQ Acoustic performs at Archipelago 7107, Il Terrazzo in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. They play good music and interacts well with the crowd. The band starts to play at around 10pm, while the guests enjoy "Buy 1 Take 1" cocktails and "Free Salpicao" for every bottle of hard liquor. Plus there's a pretty bartender every Saturday who's ready to serve you!:)

The band performs in 3 sets. But before the band plays, pieces of paper are distributed so people can put on their requests. Guests may opt to jam with the band starting on their 2nd set through the 3rd. Everyone is welcome to join the fun!

The band usually ends playing at around 3am but some people stay 'til 4am, most especially when they're celebrating special occasions, just like last Saturday (June 23) when we were celebrating a friend's birthday. Let me share some photos from last Saturday...

Take a break from your usual Saturday night party. Sometimes, it is also nice to just sit back and relax with your friends with some acoustic music at the background. Or if you're too tired dancing at the club, you may choose to sing the night away.

We got you a perfect "chillax" spot. Come and join us in Spotlight Saturdays!:)
