Banana Republic x Roland Mouret Collection

Last 14th of August, Banana Republic has launched its new collection by fashion designer, Roland Mouret, at its recently renovated store in Greenbelt 5, Makati City.

The short event was hosted by fashion bloggers, Camille Co and Lissa Kahayon. They also did a quick styling tutorial on turning a day/work outfit into an outfit perfect for a night out.

They also gave out free vouchers featuring 20% discount when one avails Php 8,000 or more worth of items. Our friend, Jen, bought 2 dresses worth Php 6,000 each but instead of paying Php 12,000, she only paid around Php 9,000+. They also awarded two best dressed women chosen by the fashion bloggers.

I got to fit one of the dresses, and I had to choose a bigger size 'cause my size, 0, was already out of stock. I loved that Camille was very supportive of me trying on the same dress she's wearing.

So I loved the wine and snacks from Bizu that were served to us. I liked the new collection 'cause they're very classy yet still wearable on a regular day. I also met new friends and had fun chatting with everyone.

Be it Haute Couture or RTW, Solari Clothing has got it for you!

Solari is a fashion brand of apparel for women. It creates both RTW and haute couture (custom-made) clothing for women.

Why Solari?

The brand name “Solari” refers to the family name of the long lost king and queen of Italy. Having this name means having great power and beauty to influence others and get their way. The same thought applies to the line of apparel that the brand presents. The class and sophistication of Solari’s designs allow a woman to show off great power and beauty, thus influencing the style of other women. Solari does not break too far away from the conventional fashion; instead, it adds a couple of unconventional elements to its designs to achieve a classy yet edgy sense of style.

Overdue Post: Mutya ng Pilipinas

This is a super late post but I just feel like sharing some photos. This happened last AUgust 12 at the UP Theater.

Congratulations to the winners:

Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific: #29 Camille Guevara (who got a lot of special awards also and she seemed to be the judges' favorite, even if she didn't answer perfectly in the Q&A)

Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International: #25 Rizzini Alexis Gomez (who had the best answer in the Q&A but I guess she didn't win as the grand winner because she's good in answering tourism-related questions, thus her title)

Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas: #10 Maribee Tiburcio

1st Runner Up: #24 Emma Tiglao

2nd Runner Up: #28 Larah Grace Lacap

The show was hosted by Kristine Caballero, Markki Stroem, and Maggie Wilson-Consunji.

The official tabulator was Reyes Tacandong & Co. (RT&Co). Plus a long list of judges.

Anyway, what I loved about the show were:

 Maggie Wilson's outfit (www.haute-affair.com)

Markki Stroem and his own version of "Call Me Maybe"

The super fabulous Ternos of the Top10

What went a bit off were:
  • The Japanese interpreter who wasn't able to deliver well the answer of the overseas half-Japanese contestant. Actually I've heard she speaks fluent Tagalog, but opted to get a translator to translate Japanese to English. Unfortunately, they both kinda messed up. Good thing, I can actually understand Japanese.
  • No teleprompter so I can feel the struggle of the hosts.
  • Funny Q&A with the Top10. Honestly, I didn't know if they were that nervous that they forgot everything in the world that could make sense, except the overused words and phrases: "hospitable", "natural resources", and "it's more fun in the Philippines" hahaha!
  • At the end, after the announcement of the grand winner, she was awarded with everything -- sash, bouquet of flowers, certificate...except the crown! They already posed for photo ops, the hosts said goodbye, and the confetti were all over; until Mama Rene Salud came running to the backstage screaming for "where's the crown?!?" That was so epic! So funny seeing the blank faces of people haha! Until last year's Mutya ng Pilipinas went out from the backstage with the crown, which she passed on to the new winner. I think she got lost 'cause maybe she was waiting for her cue, which was forgotten by the hosts. Haha but well, it already happened. Every show has its own share of misfortune.
But I had fun. Thanks to RT&Co. for inviting me. We got really nice seats:)

Thanks also to Mags for giving me and my friend a VIP Card very randomly while we were standing while chatting somewhere near the stage. I hope to shop there soon!:)

What To Wear this Summer

It's summer again so we better get ready with our summer outfits. Besides our swimwear, we also have to match our casual wear with the season. Here are some of the outfit ideas I have searched through the web.:)

Sunglasses/Shades

Wedges

Printed Top, Shorts, Skirt, Short Dress, and Cardigan

Plain yet Stylish Clothes

Maxi Dress

Other Inspirations

Based on these photos, we can see that summer wear is about colors, flowy fabrics, and floral patterns. So go and get them while they're hot.:)
