Career Confusion

Now that I'm starting to love my job as a Marketing Officer in a construction supplies/solutions company, more opportunities of getting a higher-paying job are coming my way.

Before applying for the job where I am at right now, I submitted an application to JALways and I got shortlisted. Anytime in October, the employers from Japan will come and probably check on the application of the shortlisted candidates. Yikes, of course I wanna make it there because it would earn me a lot of money. However, it's gonna be hard to leave my current job.

I thought that was my only problem. But now, Emirates will finally be conducting screening in Manila this October. I really waited for this to come since EK has frozen its hiring for a couple of months. I really wanna apply but I'm kinda hesitant because I know how much my boss in my current job depends on me. He'll be very disappointed if I decide to leave the company.

Actually, being a flight attendant is not really my ultimate dream. It's just something I wanna do for the shortest time possible just to earn enough savings that I would use to prepare for a better future. Honestly, I don't wanna be bossed around and I'm not a very patient person that's why I'm not really that good at customer service. However, this is the kind of job that I think would earn me a lot of money for the shortest time possible, therefore after saving enough, I could immediately quit that job and pursue the career that i really love.

Well, I wanna be a boss. I wanna have my own business. I also wanna make a company grow. I wanna feel important and appreciated in an institution. I wanna be a well-known person in my field. And I want my actions to be significant in the success of a company. These are all the reasons why I wanna stay in my current job. This is where all the opportunities for a successful career are. But I am not sure if it would still be there for me when I leave now and work as an FA and come back after a year or two. Right now, I am fulfilled career-wise but not financially. But as always, I am now down to choosing between pride and money.

I am torn. I don't know what to pray for. For me to be accepted in JAL/Emirates or not? Right now I can't think of anything to pray for but guidance & peace of mind. I hope everything will fall into place. I know God has his plans for me and I'll just live by those plans.

payday shopping experience

It's my tradition to shop every payday. And now that I've got my 1st salary with my new job, I never let go of the chance to shop for new stuff. In fact, every single item I bought was planned and had some stories behind them.

Whenever I shop on a limited budget, I always see to it that I get to buy the best stuff at the best prices. The brand is not actually not an issue. It's my goal to maximize every single peso.

The first thing I bought were undies. And the reason why I bought these was because of my lola's "pamahiin". She instructed me to buy a pair of undies on my 1st salary because it would make me hardworking and be more patient with my job. Well just to please her, I bought these. It was my first time to buy undies here 'coz it's my aunts in Japan & the US who always send me my undies. I just chose Bench because it's the cheapest haha!=)) Got them for P430.Then there was this 50% off SALE on bags at SM Department Store, so my bestfriend and I bought one black bag each. I planned to buy a black bag because most of my bags were white. Well there were lots of nice black bags but we settled for the cheapest. haha! Got these bags from Secosana at P390.
Then I searched for high-heeled shoes. I always wanted to buy a pair of shoes at Syrup, People are People but that was during the time I wasn't employed yet so I can't spend that much. But now that I've got money, I went to the shop and was pleased to find it there, still available after 2-3 months since I last saw it at another branch! haha! Unfortunately, the EPS didn't work so I had use my credit card instead of my debit card. I was so happy after buying it! I finally got it after a few months of waiting haha.=)) P1,500 for this pair.
Then as always, every first salary with every job, I always treat my bestfriend for dinner. So after shopping, we went to Pizza Hut Bistro. I spent about P500. Sorry but I was too hungry to take photos of our food. haha!
The next day, we went back to Glorietta to search for flats but I ended up buying at Landmark where there was a SALE on shoes. I got a pair of flats for P380 and slippers for P260.
We also dropped by the bazaar outside Glorietta where I was able to buy a semi-formal dress for only P250! Good thing I was able to control myself in buying a party dress worth P700 at the bazaar. But I swear, it was really nice. I just didn't know where and when to wear it that's why I didn't buy it.
And my payday shopping total was less than P4,000 (including food & transpo). hahaha!=))

I promise to save my next salary.=P

sorry for my late reaction...

Well maybe because I'm just used to it. For the Nth time, Embassy Bar was closed due to another bloody incident.

The Embassy Bar has always been the most controversial bar in the metro. It is where everyone goes wild, even the hottest celebrities. Besides, having one of the best party scenes in the metro, Embassy bar has also become popular due to a lot of scandals that happened in the bar--beating a guest to death, selling/using of drugs, and now, a stabbing incident.

According to the Taguig police, the bouncers of Embassy Bar helped the suspect to escape. But this was denied by the management of Embassy bar with the statement they released.

Embassy Bar is closed while investigations are going on. It's still unsure when will it operate again.

But don't be lonely party people, there are still a lot of clubs within the metro. Let's just hit Manor, LAX, Empire, and Fiamma for now. hehe.=P

bags come unexpected :)

If you'll review my blog entry entitled "home shoppin'", you'll find there that I got two new bags (chain bags in particular) for myself and one pouch (my gift for my bestfriend), unexpectedly. Thanks again to my grandma (father's side) who kept these stuff in a huge suitcase she brought home from Japan. haha! It came in a perfect timing because I haven't bought new bags for a long time already.

And now, I got a new clutch bag unexpectedly. I just went to my grandpa's house (mother's side) for his despedida before he leaves for the US in two days. Then my mom was also there (i'm not living w/ my mom), and she asked me if I like clutches. She said my Tita from the US sent it to her but she didn't like it 'coz it's violet so she's giving it to me instead. Since I love collecting bags, I immediately said yes, no matter what color it is. haha! So she gave me this violet clutch from Axcess, a Liz Claiborne company.

Well it's actually my first time to hear about this brand. When I saw its tag, I didn't like it that much, but when I've read the label inside the bag saying it's also from Liz Claiborne, I became happier because I'm a fan of Liz Claiborne wallets. hehe.=)

Originally I planned to get a new clutch from Code-Limited to make use of my gift certificate worth P500. But now, I'll just get a new pair of sandals instead. (That is if I won't be lazy to go to Rockwell tomorrow...it's my GC's expiration day haha!)

just sharin'...

1. Globe sort of steals my load. I dunno how and why but it happens a lot of times. I'm growing more impatient with it each day. Imagine, there were times wherein I just had loaded, (about 15 or 25) then after two messages, the load was gone! Well I don't load cards or something higher than 50 anymore 'coz I'm scared that Globe will eat them all up. Errr...

2. Makati streets in ultimate flood! My bestfriend and I came out of Cityland in Pasong Tamo beside Waltermart and it was drizzling that time. We walked to her apartment just in McKinley St. somewhere behind Eurotel. That walk was supposed to take us about 5-10 mins only, but it rained so hard while we were already halfway so we had to stop for a few minutes under a condo's parking space. But the rain still didn't stop so we proceeded. When we got to her place, i fixed my stuff and she changed her clothes, which took us just about 15-20 minutes. We were in a hurry because we'll be having a late dinner in Greenbelt. Good thing the rain stopped. But when we looked outside, the place was totally flooded! We tried walking at different streets to find our way out to Pasay Road (the road from Pasong Tamo to Glorietta). OMG! thanks to a pedicab driver who saved us. haha! But when we got to Pasay Road, the sidewalks weren't visible anymore, so we had to step straight to a jeepney's door from inside the pedicab. We were charged 30 but I gave him 40 'coz he's our savior. haha! While traveling along Pasay Road (which was totally flooded too), a Honda Civic from the opposite direction came rushing towards us and SWOOOOSH! It splashed flood water towards the jeepney driver and the two people at his back. It's not just flood water, it was a really smelly flood water! Ewww! And I won't lie that I was the 2nd girl seated from the driver's back. So thanks to the girl beside me for she was showered the most, which meant that I only got some drizzles. haha! So we (including the other passengers) just laughed while we were wiping ourselves dry. haha! Errr Honda's driver was really an asshole. My bestfriend even joked about Mayor Binay's Makati infommercial..."Ganito kami sa Makati...BAHA!" hahaha!=))

3. I just realized I never loved the taste of Teriyaki Boy. Well I love eating Japanese food, but Teriyaki boy is something I have never enjoyed. I have dined there a lot of times already, trying to find it's best dish, but nothing suited my taste. I mean, as compared to other Japanese restos, it's something that didn't stand out for me. I even enjoyed Tokyo Tokyo more. Something's really lacking with Teriyaki Boy's taste...or I just have weird taste buds? haha! I dunno...what do you think? Actually I appreciate their ambiance and staff more that their food. hehe.=P

4. I'm now seeing the future of our new bag business. More prospective clients come our way each passing day...plus more bags being ordered and produced. This is really exciting. I'll post here the details of our soft launch, big launch, and the online shop soon. You better wait for it.=)

5. My previous boss is a good career adviser. I really appreciate how much he's trying to help me. He's already like a second father to me (well besides having the same age as my real dad) 'coz he's always there whenever I feel like consulting me. He also never fails to inform me of good opportunities I might be interested in. Wow, really cool.
