LG Electronics unveils the country’s largest 105-inch CURVED Super ULTRA HD TV

MANILA, May 14, 2015 This summer, global technology innovator LG Electronics brings to the Philippines the most massive television to date—the 105-inch CURVED Super ULTRA HD TV.

Unparalleled size comes with unmatched picture quality
Globally revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas early this year, this spectacular new model 105UC9 boasts of a resolution of over 11 million pixels (5120 x 2160)—five times more than on a Full HD TV—and CinemaScope 21:9 aspect ratio. These elements deliver a truly immersive viewing experience with ultra-sharp, lifelike images all over the 105-inch screen and stunning virtual surround sound.

The superior picture quality of the 105UC9 is complemented by LG’s True 5K Engine Pro and IPS 5K Panel. The former eliminates visual errors and can upscale lower-resolution content into near-ULTRA HD quality, while the latter provides consistent contrast, true-to-life colors and a wide viewing angle.

Superiority comes in full circle with impressive audio
Sound quality is certainly not compromised as the 105UC9 sports a built-in 7.2-channel, 150W sound system, ensuring a powerful and rich audio experience. It also incorporated LG’s ULTRA Surround concept developed in partnership with audio manufacturing leader Harman Kardon. The multi-channel system harmonizes with the TV’s 21:9 CinemaScope screen with a sonic performance worthy of an actual movie theatre.

Enhanced by the highly immersive curve and 3D technology
With the same aspect ratio as a Hollywood motion picture, the 105UC9 CinemaScope 21:9 screen recreates the movie experience in the home. The curvature of the display has been carefully calibrated to maximize the immersive ambiance. And by combining Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) 3D technology with extremely high picture resolution, LG’s 5K 3D+ feature offers unobtrusive and compelling 3D viewing pleasure. Thanks to the 5K 3D Upscaler, content in SD, HD and Full HD is converted into crystal-clear, near-ULTRA HD resolution.

User experience in the highest level of intuitive
The 105UC9 promises a greatly satisfying user experience via LG Smart+ TV, which is centered on the intuitive webOS platform. LG’s webOS makes everything simple and fast, whether it’s switching between content; discovering exciting new shows, apps and services or connecting to media stored on external devices. And with the help of the endearing, animated BeanBird character, webOS also makes the initial setup and connection process quicker and much more enjoyable.

We are thrilled to bring to the Philippines the newest and most spectacular innovation of LG, the 105-inch CURVED Super ULTRA HD TV,” LG Philippines Home Entertainment Vice President Hoony Bae said. “Last December, we launched the country’s largest 98-inch ULTRA HD TV. This summer, we take it a notch higher and reinforce that it’s all possible when you bring today’s most advanced TV technologies together. The vision behind the 105UC9 was to bring the movie theatre into the living room, providing the optimal home entertainment experience for our consumers.”

Can the Blackberry Z10 Convince You?

I've had a Blackberry since 2009. First was the Curve 8520, then at mid-2010, I had it changed into a Bold 9700. But in December 2011, I got an iPhone 4S a week after it was  launched. I didn't give up my Blackberry despite having an iPhone because I can't let go of all my BBM contacts. I just subscribed to Php 99/mo BB CHAT as an add-on to my existing postpaid plan. My experiences with my BB have been very bad most especially with its battery, and its motherboard. I really wanna throw mine away.

Anyway, my only point here is, I've been using Blackberry for years and just when I am close to giving up my BB, here comes Blackberry Z10. The features and specs are very impressive and it shows a Blackberry that got 10x better. However, I'm just doubtful about how tough this product is because I've seen a Blackberry hang a lot of times. It has caused me and my friends a lot of troubles already so I don't wanna trust any BB product anymore. Even if they've done good on the Playbook, I would still prefer another tablet over that.

Hats off to Blackberry for its courage of releasing such a product, even if they've been losing global market share in the past few years. However, I wasn't convinced to upgrade my BB 9700 to BB Z10 because as much as possible, I wanted to stay with iOS and get an Android (Samsung Note 2) later.

Nice TVC though. :p

PLDT-Smart launches the JUMP Experience Center!

Last August 10, I was invited to the exclusive launch of JUMP Experience Center in Cyberzone, 4th Floor of SM Megamall B. It's the first high-technology experience center in the country and that's what PLDT and Smart Communications are so proud of.

At the entrance, there are 3 screens. We were instructed to create an avatar on the middle screen, then it was projected on the third screen using something that looked like a cardboard that's placed right in front of the camera -- this was called "projected reality". It's so cool!

 The Arena

We posed for some photos in the photo booth. Then we had some cocktails served by Hizon's catering. After a short while, the program started. The stage, which was at the center of the room was called "The Arena". Some futuristic looking dancers performed. After that, there was some introduction about the place. Two bloggers were invited to try playing Angry Birds in the 82-inch screen, and were given prizes after.

Then we were toured around by "the experts". They were very knowledgeable about all the products and home/business solutions that were found inside Jump.

looks like a plaque/award!:p

After the tour, there's a short Q&A portion wherein the bloggers got to ask the PLDT-Smart representatives more about Jump. After that, we had a texting game, wherein we're asked to text our name, company/blog to one number. That phone's screen was being projected at the big screen so we got to see every message that came in. Then the 10th and the 21st (originally 20th but it was the caterer's waiter that's why the person next to him was chosen next) texter were each given an HTC Chacha. Lucky people! haha!

Tokyo love! :)

I may not have been to other countries yet, but I would say that Tokyo so far is my most favorite city. I've explored Tokyo for two days of my 3-month stay in Japan. It wasn't actually enough but still, I know I've already seen a lot in Tokyo. My uncle's family house is in Setagaya-Ku and since one of the most expensive places to live in Tokyo. But in general, the cost of living in Japan is really expensive, most especially in Tokyo.

Tokyo is the capital city of Japan. It's the hub of the biggest local and multinational companies. Being the center of business, there are really a lot of working people there. I got amazed seeing them cross the streets in huge numbers yet very organized. Besides that, it's also the fashion central. Almost everyone in the streets is a fashionista. You'll be surprised how much they spend on clothes, shoes, and bags. There, everybody can afford branded bags, apparel, shoes, and jewelries. It's also a good place to buy gadgets. Everything's so high-tech and everyone's digitally literate. It is where all my addictions are. Shibuya, Harajuku, Ginza, Akihabara, and Ueno were my favorite places to shop.:)

I wasn't able to go to Disneyland and Disney Sea because we didn't have much time, plus my family used to go there every year without me and I wasn't able to convince them to go there for the Nth time. haha! Well I'm not a fan of amusement parks anyway. Another thing I wasn't able to try was the nightlife (at Roponggi I guess) because I didn't have friends there to hangout with.

Here are some photos I have taken during our trip...
