Revisiting Timberland

Yesterday was my 2nd time in Timberland Heights in San Mateo, Rizal.=) Thanks to my friend Jian, whose club membership allows him to take us there haha!

But first, let's review what happened during my 1st time there, July of last year.

Oh...photoshoot! All of these photos were taken by Jian Alvarez.

the sportsclub behind me
i love this drink...I think it's called Tropical Fizz (photo by Mark Duma)

Yesterday, we brought my friend Angelia to Timberland for some "overlooking Metro Manila" experience. haha!

This time...we were there for some food trip and sight-seeing!=P

 this is called the "love potion"
yummy sashimi, except the squid haha
very tasty Bistek Tagalog

Timberland is a place perfect for relaxation. They got yummy food, complete amenities, and nice views. It  may be far from the city, but it doesn't mean a long drive. It's just 15 minutes away from Quezon City and Marikina City.=)

We got plans of staying there overnight either on the last week of February or 1st week of March. I just wish that getaway will push through (fingers crossed).

Friends Meet Politics

Elections is coming near and I think a lot of people I know have been preparing for the past few months for their campaigns.

Let's see who's on the list:

1. MIRO QUIMBO - Congressman, District 2 , Marikina City
My frat bro and husband of my sorority sister...and I think I was right in convincing him to pursue politics in our city last November 2008.

2. SUSANA "JUDY" MAGTUBO - Councilor, District 2, Marikina City
She's my friend KM's mom and the wife of Cong. Renato Magtubo. Their family's one of those I have spent a really long time with, most especially during our high school days.

my friend KM and Tita Judy

3. PIA AGATEP - Councilor, Lasam, Cagayan
I'm quite unsure if she has campaign materials available already. But if she wins, I think she'll be the youngest councilor in the Philippines.

pia and her dad (incumbent mayor of Lasam) in Indonesia

4. ALFRED VARGAS - Councilor, District 2 , Quezon City
A celebrity trying his luck on politics. But hanging out with his group last summer in Boracay proved to me that he's a good man.

photo from his brother PM

5. KIT BELMONTE - Congressman, District 2, Quezon City
It was only at a birthday party last December when I met him and found out that he's my fraternity brother and learned about his political aspirations. Such a cool guy.

6. MIKE DEFENSOR - Mayor, Quezon City
And I didn't know that he's running. I just saw brod Mike's posters around Batasan.

And I became more involved with politics when I got to meet these candidates in several affairs:

BIRTHDAY PARTY of a media friend

Senatorial Candidate Mr. Ramon Mitra
VP Candidate Edu Manzano
Presidential Candidate Gibo Teodoro

GREEN VOTE: A forum on Environmental Platforms of Political Candidates which was organized by my college organization last week.

advocate of the environment VP candidate Sen. Loren Legarda
with my friend Myka's uncle, Presidential Candidate Nick Perlas
it was a successful project!=)
Congrats UP STPA!:)

And up to now, I still don't know who should I vote for. Still got a lot of assessments to do.
Let's vote wisely everyone!=)

Oh, and I didn't know that today is the kick-off of the campaign period. I just saw it in the news a while ago. haha! What a perfect timing to blog about politics.=P

Fun and Fabulous Friends Forever!

I still can't get over of last night. It was an epic!=)

Dinner at Eastwood...then convoy on our way to ENCORE!=)

Top 3 reasons to celebrate:

1. MAGIC 7 was complete! This time, no minus one nor minus two. We're SEVEN! yey! And it's a "drink 'til we drop" night for we got a VIP table worth Php 8000, which I think we were not really able to consume up to the last peso.

nice photo...if only without the smoke! haha
who wanna get drunk?
2. A good friend of mine from Iloilo was here in Manila for vacation! We finally got to party together again after a very long time, 'coz the last time I saw her was in Iloilo on November '09, but we weren't able to hangout much. And the last time she was here in Manila was during her Starstruck days, before getting eliminated at the Top 20. Oh, she's Gabby Ong by the way, but she's still Angelia Ong to us.=)

3. Our good friend Dani was back from Switzerland! He's been away for the longest time and we're so glad that we finally got to party together again. The last time we partied was around June '09 I guess. And now he's back...and so was Mickey! I missed these guys. Too bad, Ryan left for Switzerland so he's not with us...but Gee-ann and Serg were as fun as well.=)

Dani, we missed you!!!
who's missing? RYAN!!! you better come back now!
SERG...our new dancing buddy!=P

An Apple a Day...Keeps the Badtrip Away! =P

It was only now that I got to check out the Apple iPad thoroughly. Last week, when everybody's in a craze over this new innovation from Apple, I was too preoccupied by some other stuff. And I just heard about this Apple iPad through my friend's retweet of @bryanboy's tweet: "The world doesn't NEED a bigger iPod Touch." hahaha! And I actually agree! I guess if you already have an iPod Touch or iPhone 3GS and a Macbook, those could already keep you from getting an Apple iPad.

But wait 'til you see this video from Apple...

Oh my...Watch it closely and listen carefully to what it says...wouldn't you want to own one? Oooh...temptation...temptation...temptation! hahaha!=))

$ 499? Hmm...let's compute: $ 499 x Php 45 = Php 22,455!
Let's compare to iPhone 3Gs 16gb = Php 34,200 (via Ebay Philippines)
Plus the fact that cellphones easily get stolen...

Goodbye iPhone...Hello iPad! hahaha! Omg, I got less than 3 months before my birthday...
Uhm, calling all my relatives abroad...FedEx and UPS are always ready to serve you. hahaha!=))

Horoscope is getting freaky!

I downloaded the Daily Horoscope application to my Blackberry two weeks ago. I make it to a point that I read my Horoscope every single day, but I tend to forget it sometimes.

During the first few days I was using this application, I really enjoyed it. It gave me a lot of advices, it was able to explain why things happened, and its predictions even came true. It usually matches the situation I'm in.

But this time, it's already freaking me out! It seems like it knows everything about me--the things I do, my feelings, my decisions, and everything that's running in my head.

It was only tonight that I was able to check my Daily Horoscope because I have been busy the whole day thinking how would I express my disappointment to my boss. Well it's kind of a long story to explain why I'm feeling this way, but I am so sure that I want to talk to him so he would know how disappointed I am with him. And just a few minutes ago, I got shocked about what my Horoscope said:

Don't let your disappointment in someone show if you can help it. If you believe that someone has let you down, try to be empathic and put yourself in that person's shoes. You may have had very high expectations and that's a lot of pressure for this particular individual to handle. Maintaining a "good try, better luck next time" kind of attitude will make everyone involved feel a lot better. If you really allow that sentiment to sink in, you will indeed make out better next time. Maintain your faith and be more realistic in your expectations.

And so I have written this blog entry!

10 Steps to be FAB on FEB!

In a matter of a few weeks, I'll be free! No more work which would stop me from doing what I want and from chasing my FA aspirations. haha! I want some changes now. New year, new me! Sorry for the delayed reaction. I know it's the second month of the year already but that won't stop me from pimpin' myself haha. I gotta be Fabulous this February!

10 Steps to be FAB on FEB:

Step 1: Lose the stress!
Oh I would love to go to the spa and get some full body massage!

Step 2: Lose the eyebags!
I should be asleep before the clock strikes midnight. So this means, I have to minimize my late-night gimmicks. haha! Therefore, I would party out once or twice a week only...and that's only during weekends! (fingers crossed haha)

Step 3: Lose the marks!
I'm hatin' my pimple marks that's why I got my self a small tube of Contractubex. It costs exactly P435 at 10ml! But it's okay 'coz I have witnessed how effective it was when my cousin used it 3 years ago to treat the scars all over her body caused by skin burn when she had a rare skin disease called Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis.

Step 4: Love the skin!
No more walking out in the sun without wearing sunscreen or using umbrella haha! Plus I must not be lazy to apply my day and night creams and to take my Glutathione capsules. And I have heard from a friend how effective the Ysa Chemical Peel is, so I think I'll give it a try. Good thing it's on Promo! P2500 for 5 sessions is not bad.=P You may visit their website: http://www.ysa.com.ph/

Step 5: Be more health conscious!
Time to stop skipping vitamins and start drinking plenty of water. I have to stay away from smoke and dust. Good thing I limited my gimmicks already haha. And whether I like it or not, I must do some exercise in the morning. Aim for flat abs! woohoo!=))

Step 6: Maintain proper posture!
Walk like a beauty queen. No more slouching more especially when using the computer.

Step 7: Get a new cut and color!
I'm already bored with my hair, which is dominantly black with a slightly visible color. So I requested my cousin from Japan who's going home next week to bring me one. I like using their hair colors there 'coz they don't damage my hair plus the color shines. For the haircut, that I still have to decide on. I wanna get a bob, but I don't think I can survive with really short hair haha! I think I'll just get some big curls or buy a better performing curling iron so I could curl my hair occasionally.

i think I can't do this! haha

I want curls!=)

Step 8: Closet Revamp!
I've got lots of clothes in my closet, which I haven't been using so I guess it's time to lose them and replace them with new ones.=) How about a garage sale? Oh my, it's hard to let go of my stuff. haha!

Step 9: Stay Closer to Him!
Regular Sunday masses and daily readings (which I downloaded to my Blackberry) should be a habit! I know that a strong faith in Him could take me really really far.

Step 10: Keep A Positive Attitude!
Say NO to negative vibes! A positive attitude can influence a lot of people. So from now on, I'll keep a positive attitude...more especially during my FA applications haha! I gotta keep my hopes up and believe that I would be successful in all my endeavors when the right time comes.=)
